Basic raw material production for the revival of an efficient Philippine Wood Industry
has been proven possible in trials to activate Community-based Forest Plantations
under the Department of Environment Natural Resource’s (DENR’s) Community-Based
Forest Management Agreement (CBFMA).
OVERVIEW
ByltAx Systems (BAS) the project proponent and a progeny of one of the most experienced
and productive forestry consultancy firm in the Philippines is now in the process
of consolidating five existing tree plantations, totaling to almost 1,500 hectares
which are located in Luzon and Mindoro. Plantations on these areas were done between
1995 and 2007. Adjacent expansion areas of another 50,000 hectares for development
will also be offered.
BAS is also in the final phase of planning and preparing for a 30,000 hectares bio-diesel
Jatropha / Moringa /Castor plantation in Central Luzon.
